N.E show

Long time since I've last posted. Anyway, we just had our NE show last Saturday. The journey was very long. We all had a fun time on the bus. Cheryl, Jasmine, Serene and I went to the back of the bus. Sean went to the back and tried to get the boys to sit with him in the back. But we beat them. Eventually, we had the back row to ourselves. When we arrived, we could see miles and miles of students and buses. All were wearing red. We saw a lot and I mean a lot of students. We slowly moved along and we once had a traffic jam. We waited and once in a while, we heard whispers of " They're so lucky!' from other students. We waited under the hot Sun and we eventually moved. What a relief! We went into an air-conditioned tent. There were thermal scanners. I felt so excited to finally be able to see a rehearsal of the NDP show. We then went to our seats and felt bored waiting for the show to start. We went through numerous commercials (including four Cadbury commercials) . Then we finally had some response from the 'Giant Eye'. We had a fun time watching until there was an interruption. It seemed as if there was a terrorist attack happening. There was a loud explosion sound and mist( with a yellow colour) started spewing out from the stage. All the performers ran away and some fell back because they were affected by the mist. Then the SAF came and took them away. All in all, we had a fun time feeling the simulated terrorist attack. Then came the grand finale after all the performances. There was a light drizzle at first. We all thought that it wan't going to turn into anything worse. Then a heavy downpour started. We all rushed to get out our ponchos. Some brave (crazy) people did not even care about the rain. We went home after a long night.

Camp Fun

Hi all, I am now going to talk about camp. We had our camp on International Friendship Day. We had to assemble at the hall and get into our groups where we were introduced to our group instructors. Then, we went to the camp site. It was quite near Sentosa. This proved to be a good asset as we had an activity there. We arrived at the hall as the camp site used to be an old school. We then put our bags down and Chief Eunice told us to bring an extra t-shirt as we had a water activity (which I later found out). In the end,me and my friend's group were not able to do the water activity. We were disappointed and some of us even said" $41 wasted!" . We went back and had our dinner. After that, we had our night activity which was called "Kidnap!". We had problems doing the puzzle which was given to us but we eventually solved it. Our group was the last group to find the hostage. After that, we went to our dorms. Our instructors told us that we had to wake up at 6.30 a.m. Some of us woke up 30 minutes earlier to prepare our clothes as we had our high elements on that day. We tried the rock wall, abscaling and challenge rope courses. I tried the abscaling. It was scary at the top but as I went down, it was OK and not so scary as I imagined. Then, it was lunch time. We had to do a hungry cheer.

It Goes Like This:

Are You Hungy?!

Hungry Hungry

Very Very

Hungry Very

Very Hungry

Chikalaka Pia Pia

Chikalaka Pia Pia Chia!

Some Groups added extras such "What la?!" and some even screamed. Those who did not do anything during the high elements got a chance to do one as after lunch, we were given another chance to play the high elements. After a while, my group and group 8 practiced our campfire item. Instructor Adam got angry at us. We apologised and he agreed to help us. We chose "Love Story" then "Low". At first, for the love story, the girls had to partner the boys. We then changed and it became girl partner girl and boy partner boy. I became the boy and Winne as the girl . After our dinner,we went to get our hats and then we had our campfire! When our group went for our campfire item, all the groups went ' Woo!' as Instructor Adam and Junice did something. Then, it was time to do 'Low". This is where our caps came in handy. after our performance, everyone clapped like crazy and there were even some cat calls. We all enjoyed ourselves. Then, it started raining. at first it was a light drizzle. Then it became stronger. So we had to move up to the hall. Then the performances continued. We had a mini dance competition. The winner was a girl from 5.9. Then the performances continued. We were all tired after that. So we went back to our dorm and slept. The last day was area cleaning day. We had to clean the girls dorms. there was an awarding ceremony after that. We went back to school. Some isnstructors joined us and taught us some games. All in all, I had a fun camp!

The end!

March Holidays

The school holidays are here! You must be thinking that it's going to be great! But remember what ms sue said " Work hard and play hard". I haven't exactly done my homework yet. Any way, here's what happened during the past four days. On Friday, we had a meet-the-parent's session. My sister was first. So I told my mother that I would go up ( We were on the second floor) to class. When I arrived, I saw Kangli, Natalie and Sean playing catching. Natalie was the catcher. So I went down. I found out that my mother had just started conversing with my sister's teacher. I went up again. They were still playing catching. I spent a long time there. When I went down again, my mother and sister were gone! I went to the hall as I knew that they would talk to my sister's Chinese teacher. Jie Yi went with me. We went around in circles. Then, I saw my mother and sister but they did not see me. So I went up to her (my mother) and tapped her on the shoulder. I received a good scolding. So we went into the hall.We located my sister's Chinese teacher. My mother informed me that there was no one waiting to converse to Ms Sue.Eventually,it was our turn. The teacher talked to my mother for what seemed like an eternity. After that, we went up to my classroom. A few of my classmates were there first. This gave me some time to play with the Scrabble letters. Those who were there, you know what I mean. Finally, it was my turn. My sister was trying to catch a glimpse at my Ca papers. When we went out of the classroom, my mother asked what we wanted to eat for lunch. I suggested that we go to Northpoint for lunch.

This may seem alot but this is all I can remember.

Fire safety

I have not experienced a fire at my home or neighborhood. I would not want to be in or near a fire. If ever a fire were to break out at home or outside, I would immediately call the fire brigade and tell people to go to a place for away from the fire itself. I would then search for a fire extinguisher and try to weaken the fire. I think that carelessly discarded cigarettes, children playing with lit matches are the main causes of fire. We could try to warn younger children not to play with matches and advise smokers to make sure that their cigarette butts are fully extinguished. We should install more fire extinguishers in convenient locations. I think our pupils are fire safety conscious. When we have our fire drills, most students obey the rules and assemble at the designated places. If I had the chance to introduce games or activities related to fire safety, I would choose games. We could name them as 'Put out the fire' or ' Save Us!'. We could offer interesting prizes for winning or getting the highest score.

Social Studies Learning Journey Reflections

The Reflections at Bukit Chandu is located at 31K Pepys Road and the Old Ford Factory is located at Upper Bukit Timah. Why are these two places important in our history is because the Old Ford Factory is where Lieutenant Percival Auther singed the treaty and Bukit Chandu was where the fiercest battle for Singapore between the Malay Regiment and the Japanese Soldiers was fought during World War II. The local heroes at Bukit Chandu were the Malay Regiment solidiers especialy Lieutenant Anand. He fought to his last breath and he sacrificed his life.

What Will Defend

I will defend my family. Why should I defend them? They are like precious gems. As they say friends may come and go but wherever you are, family always stay. How? We could spend the weekend together swimming.
